Who is behind Recycled Furniture?

Anna Baranera

My name is Anna and I am from Sabadell with roots in Osona. As a child, I moved between calves and milk pots, fields of wheat and barley, so my love for nature comes from afar.

That is why my professional life began among veterinarians, and continued in environmental protection working for three years at Greenpeace. I also participated in the Agenda XXI of Sabadell and worked on implementing environmental improvements in housing construction.

My passion for furniture also comes from childhood, and when I smell wood and wax and close my eyes, I am transported to Vic, to my grandfather's cabinetmaker workshop.

I was able to dedicate a few years to furniture restoration professionally when in 2005, Mireia and I set up La Mansarda del Moble, a workshop that still operates today.

In recent years, I have only been able to dedicate myself to furniture in my free time, as I have been taking care of the family business. But now I have decided to dedicate more time to it and combine both jobs.

Restoring antique furniture is very rewarding, removing the different layers, reaching the wood, to give it back its original appearance. It is a beautiful process but it mainly requires time.

Recycling old furniture is different, it is more creative, faster and less rigorous. What we want is to transform the furniture and give it a different look, to our taste, with no limits to the imagination. And that is what we do at Recycled Furniture.

To be able to make these furniture transformations, I rely on the Annie Sloan brand, which is globally recognised and trusted my project when it was still in its infancy, so I feel very fortunate. They are extraordinary paints with a wide range of colours that allow us to make incredible transformations of old furniture.

I have the support of my family and friends, who not only encourage me but also help me to scrape, to paint, and even to locate old furniture to recycle!!!

I encourage you to visit the shop at Via Massagué, 44 in Sabadell, where you can see how we transform furniture and try the Annie Sloan paints.

And if the shop is too far for you, I invite you to browse the website, get ideas from our blog, and shop online.

Ahh and you can follow us on Instagram.
